Work Experience:

Master Project Scheduler, Primavera P6 SME, Consultant

Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding - Newport News, VA

February 2014 to Present

My current assignment at Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding has me leading projects on behalf of the Process Improvement Department aimed at elevating the maturity of Newport News Shipbuilding’s use of Primavera P6 and MS Project and incorporate Project Controls into their current production planning processes. I am working toward having Integrated Program Portfolios containing very large and complex engineering, manufacture and assembly projects. I provide expertise in Project Scheduling and Integrated Schedule Management while standardizing Primavera P6 implementation processes of autonomous functional organizations within the company. I am assisting in defining and authoring roles, responsibilities and work instructions for current Primavera users as well as the new position of “Project/Program Scheduler” within the company. I also act as a scheduling process integrator by communicating best practice procedures and controls between functional organizations and stakeholders within the company. I am also part of the Primavera P6 v7.0 to v8.3.4 upgrade implementation team: troubleshooting the new P6 DB architecture as it relates to current NNS processes and training users in new functionality of the Professional and web clients.
I am developing ways to leverage P6 for project health, CPM scheduling as well as production schedule/resource conflict projections and management within an integrated schedule. I also write processes for proving delay and disruption and subsequent REA using P6 as the central historical analysis tool. I am involved in initiatives to implement schedule quality metrics that meet DCMA 14 Point Schedule Assessment as well as ANSI 748 in preparation for IBR.

Master Project Scheduler

Oceaneering International, Marine Services Division - Chesapeake, VA

December 2011 to January 2014

I formerly held the position of Master Project Scheduler at Oceaneering International MSD division where I developed and administered MSD's Integrated Project Scheduling and Project Controls systems using Primavera P6. I supervised the Program Support Office staff of 7 schedulers and coordinators and assisted in developing sound Project Management processes for MSD. I managed the integration of multiple internal business systems and processes including that of their ERP (Oracle PeopleSoft Financials) and Primavera P6. I trained and mentored PSO staff in Project Controls and Project Scheduling supporting 3 unique ship repair product lines consisting of modernization and service life extension projects of up to $40m in value with the US Navy being the primary customer. I provided periodical ETC and EAC based on critical milestones and project peg points. I supported and collaborated with OII clients and colleagues with program support in multiple time zones. I acted as an internal Oceaneering consultant and business unit representative for OII Project Management implementation, Project Controls and Project Scheduling initiatives. I was the MSD P6 v8.3 administrator and Lead Project Scheduler controlling access and managing our EPS. I developed and authored the PSO processes and work instructions. I was the lead scheduler for high risk and technically challenging repair and engineering projects and served as part of the Integrated Project Teams. I gave presentations to our Government oversight authorities regarding our Project Management System and the roles of our clients and subcontractors within it. I helped develop MSD’s Change Order process and used a variety of tools in our “What If” Impact Analysis (Claim Digger, MSP2010). I served as Project Manager for time and labor collection improvement, Peoplesoft/P6 integration and MSD’s EVMS Certification Project working to ANSI 748 standards. Acting Program Support Manager and Business Operations Manager reporting to the VP/GM with full signature authority.
